Two Orem Murder Suspects Make First Court Appearance

A BAIL HEARING -- FOR A PAIR OF 24-YEAR-OLD OREM MURDER SUSPECTS -- ENDED WITH EACH OF THEM RETURNING TO JAIL, WEDNESDAY MORNING.

A $1-MILLION, CASH ONLY BOND WAS SET FOR MASON FRENCH...WHILE TRAVIS WALDRON WAS DENIED BAIL ALTOGETHER.

THE TWO ARE ACCUSED OF SHOOTING RUPERT MILEY, 42, IN THE BACK -- WHILE HE WAS DRIVING, IN OREM -- EARLY YESTERDAY MORNING.

POLICE BELIEVE THE SUSPECTS WERE DRUNK...AND CONFRONTING MILEY OVER A PREVIOUS DRUG DEAL.

AUTHORITIES ALLEGE FRENCH WAS THE TRIGGERMAN, AFTER TAKING A .357 HANDGUN FROM HIS FATHER, THE DAY BEFORE.

THE SUSPECTS WILL NEXT APPEAR IN COURT -- FOR FORMAL ARRAIGNMENT -- NEXT WEEK.
