Suspected Car Thief Found Hiding in a Garbage Can

WEST JORDAN POLICE MADE AN UNUSUAL ARREST WEDNESDAY MORNING, WHEN THEY NABBED A SUSPECTED CAR THIEF, AFTER HE JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE... AND HID IN A GARBAGE CAN.

WEST VALLEY POLICE FIRST SPOTTED THE SUSPECT -- ON REDWOOD ROAD -- IN THEIR CITY. BUT THE SUSPECT FLED INTO WEST JORDAN.

AFTER AUTHORITIES THERE DISCOVERED HE WAS IN THE TRASH CAN, THEY DEPLOYED POLICE DOGS TO HELP DRAG HIM OUT.

WHEN THE SUSPECT CONTINUED TO RESIST ARREST, OFFICERS ALSO USED A TASER TO SUBDUE HIM.

POLICE SAY THE SUSPECT WAS WANTED ON A PAROLE VIOLATION... AND BELIEVED TO BE ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
