Southern Utah Residents Want Coyote Trapping Restrictions

JUST NORTH OF ST. GEORGE, A GROUP OF IVINS RESIDENTS WANTS THE CITY TO CHANGE A COYOTE TRAPPING ORDINANCE, BEFORE MORE DOGS GET CAUGHT.

ABOUT FIFTY COMMUNITY MEMBERS ATTENDED A COUNCIL MEETING, SAYING THE TRAPS SHOULD BE BANNED FROM PUBLIC PROPERTY, WITHIN THE CITY.

CHRISTY EDWARDS SAYS, AT LEAST TWO DOGS HAVE BEEN TRAPPED... AND ONE PET OWNER WAS HURT, TRYING TO FREE HER ANIMAL.

COLYOTE TRAPPING -- ON UTAH FEDERAL LANDS -- IS LEGAL.

THE IVINS CITY COUNCIL TABLED THE DISCUSSION, BUT PROMISED TO REVISIT THE ISSUE, LATER THIS MONTH.
