South Salt Lake Opens New Recreation Center

HISTORIC WOODROW WILSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -- NEAR 26TH SOUTH AND MAIN, IN SOUTH SALT LAKE -- HAS BEEN BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE, THIS WEEK, AS THE 'CENTRAL PARK COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER.'

THE OLD SCHOOL'S LIBRARY, GYMNASIUM, AND SEVERAL CLASSROOMS ARE INCORPORATED INTO THE NEW DESIGN... ALONG WITH SEVERAL NEW AMENITIES.

MAYOR CHERIE WOOD SAYS, THE FACILITY IS THE NEWEST AND BIGGEST REC CENTER IN HER CITY.

IT INCLUDES BASEBALL AND SOCCER FIELDS... A BOXING GYM... AND A FITNESS CENTER.

COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS WILL ALSO DIRECT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS AT THE REC CENTER, AFTER THE HOLIDAYS.
