Same Sex Marriages Will Continue in Utah -- For Now

SAME SEX COUPLES HAVE BEEN GIVEN MORE TIME TO WED IN UTAH.  BUT THEY COULD STILL BE CUT OFF, AT ANY TIME.

A SALT LAKE FEDERAL JUDGE REFUSED, MONDAY MORNING, TO GRANT A STATE REQUEST FOR A STAY IN THE 3-DAY OLD RULING, ALLOWING GAY COUPLES TO OBTAIN MARRIAGE LICENSES.

HOWEVER, ANTICIPATING THE RULING, THE STATE HAD ALREADY PREPARED ITS APPEAL TO THE TENTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS IN DENVER.

THAT COURT COULD ACT WITHIN HOURS -- OR WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE HOLIDAYS -- TO ISSUE A RULING.

UNTIL IT DOES, SAME SEX COUPLES WILL CONTINUE TO BE ALLOWED TO MARRY IN UTAH.
