Ogden School District Installing Carbon Monoxide Detectors

THE OGDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT ISN'T WAITING FOR ORDERS -- FROM THE STATE LEGISLATURE -- TO DO IT.

THE SCHOOL BOARD HAS VOTED TO INSTALL CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS -- IN ALL OF THEIR SCHOOLS -- HOPEFULLY, BEFORE STUDENTS RETURN FROM THEIR CHRISTMAS BREAKS.

ZAC WILLIAMS, WITH THE DISTRICT, SAYS ONE OF THEIR 20 SCHOOLS ALREADY HAS THE DETECTORS...AND THEY DON'T EXPECT THE COST -- TO EQUIP THE OTHER 19 -- TO BE PARTICULARLY HIGH.

UTAH LAWMAKERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONSIDER LEGISLATION, NEXT MONTH, TO REQUIRE ALL UTAH SCHOOLS TO HAVE CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS --IN THE WAKE OF A POISONING INCIDENT, IN SAN JUAN COUNTY, THAT HOSPITALIZED SEVERAL STUDENTS... AND FORCED AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO BE EVACUATED.
