Driver, 19, Jailed After Leading Police on a Car Chase

A DRIVER WAS BOOKED INTO THE SALT LAKE COUNTY JAIL MONDAY MORNING, AFTER LEADING POLICE ON A HIGH SPEED CHASE ... AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO ENTER HOMES IN THE AREA, TO HIDE.

POLICE FIRST SPOTTED SUSPECT VICTOR GARZA, 19, IN TAYLORSVILLE... AND SAY HE HIT ANOTHER CAR, AS HE FLED.

MOMENTS LATER, HIS VEHICLE GOT STUCK IN A FIELD... NEAR 47TH WEST, 42ND SOUTH, IN WEST VALLEY CITY.

AREA RESIDENTS TOLD POLICE, GARZA ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THEIR HOMES, BY CLAIMING HE NEEDED TO USE THE PHONE... OR THE RESTROOM.

AUTHORITIES SAY HE APPARENTLY FLED, BECAUSE HE WAS WANTED ON A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WARRANT.
