Northeastern Utah Authorities Investigating Apparent Murder

Uintah County Sheriffs Deputies say a witness first reported what appears to be a murder victim, in a wooded area -- northeast of Roosevelt -- Sunday afternoon.

Police are now awaiting autopsy results, to better understand the cause of death.

Authorities say a multi-state search is now underway for the victim's car -- a 2011 Mazda, black 4-door, 3S -- with Utah license plate C651NH.

The victim was found on the Ute Indian Reservation, though authorities do not believe he was a member of the tribe.

His name is not yet being released.
