Jordan School District Plans to Float Utah's Largest-Ever Bond Request

The Jordan School Board is expected to vote, next week, to seek approval of the largest bond request in Utah history.

It will ask homeowners to approve a bond of up to $540-million, to fund construction of eleven new schools, and the renovation and upgrading of up to 20 more.

The average homeowner in the district would pay $250 more -- per year, for five years -- to fund the request.

At 51,000 students, the Jordan District is already one of Utah's largest -- and expects to add as many as 29,000 additional students, over the next decade.
