Another Utah Water Shortage is Upon Us

Another drought season is upon us, across most of Utah.

State Hydrologist Randy Julander says, statewide, we have less than half the water supply stored in reservoirs that we should have, at this time of year.

In some locations -- including Ogden, Provo and Northeastern Utah -- the amount of stored water is much lower than that.

Water rationing has already been imposed in some locations -- with more likely to follow.  Julander says, a wet summer would help -- but still not make up for the shortage entirely.

He says Utah farmers and ranchers will be impacted most; but we should all try to limit our water use over the next several months.
